There are more and more youngsters who decide to deal with a sport more seriously, becoming semi-professionals or just spending long hours training.

Digital enhancement or simply...photo fraud?

Digital enhancement is common means of "retouching" celebrity photos to make them have a more youthful, attractive appearence. We have all seen models, singers and actresses "before and after" photos loke this one.

We learned today that there are other, more harmful ways to manipulate a photo, which really are kinds of fraud: 

1. Digitally manipulating images after the photographs have been taken. 

2. Photographing scenes staged by Hezbollah and presenting the images as if they were of authentic spontaneous news events.

3. Photographers themselves staging scenes or moving objects, and presenting photos of the set-ups as if they were naturally occurring.

4. Giving false or misleading captions to otherwise real photos that were taken at a different time or place.

Skyping with Siberia

On Tuesday we skyped with a  High School in Siberia! 

It was their first skyping session, so both their teacher Mrs Ровенских and the children were 

very excited and very well-prepared! They even went to their school at 8pm with their parents and teachers to talk to their Greek friends!

We talked about  winter and felt happy that we don't have to go to school when -32C!
 

We were very jealous when our friends brought in snow and made a snowman for us! We told them we'd love to drop by Siberia for a little...

Alina was dressed in her traditional costume and danced a local dance ...

...and we exchanged Skype addresses with Anika to keep in touch.
